PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a character message in a mobile communication terminal is provided to page a memory while the transmission function of the character message is performed so that a user may use a stored telephone number as a telephone number of a receiver. CONSTITUTION: The character message writing is selected among several function menus on a mobile communication terminal(ST10). Various buttons of the mobile communication terminal are operated, and a character message is written(ST20). A specific button is pushed for paging a telephone number stored in a memory, and a telephone number of a receiver for receiving the character message is inputted(ST30). The character message is transmitted to the telephone number of the receiver(ST40).
