PURPOSE: A method and system for broadcasting an advertisement using a wired broadcasting modem and providing a free call service is provided to broadcast an image advertisement on a display device of a user when the user dials a certain number and connects to the wired broadcasting modem and freely provide a telephone service. CONSTITUTION: A user telephone(100) dials a promised number and generates an image request signal. A wired broadcasting modem(110) receives the image request signal provided from the user telephone(100), transmits the received image request signal, and provides a free call service to a user. A wired broadcasting network terminal(130) receives the image request signal from the wired broadcasting modem(110), provides an image signal, and provides the free call service corresponding to the image signal through a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network)(140). A display device(120) receives the image signal through the wired broadcasting modem(110) and displays an image advertisement corresponding to the image signal.
