PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic probe in which a transducer is not damaged even when a falling impact is applied. CONSTITUTION: This ultrasonic probe is provided with a transducer 2 for mutually transducing ultrasonic waves and electric signals, an electromagnetic motor 3 for rotating the transducer 2, a frame 4 for holding the electromagnetic motor 3 and a brake mechanism 13 for stopping the rotation of the electromagnetic motor 3. At the time of rotating the electromagnetic motor 3, the brake mechanism 13 is released and the rotation of the electromagnetic motor 3 is enabled. At the time of stopping the electromagnetic motor 3, the rotation of the electromagnetic motor 3 is prevented by the brake mechanism 13.
