PURPOSE: A remote DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Loop Access and Multiplexing) system is provided to improve the speed of an ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) service and decrease an entire service cost by installing a remote DSLAM unit interfaced with a main DSLAM unit installed in a telephone office at a place which is separated over a uniform distance from the telephone office and uniformly transmitting a high-speed serial ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) packet. CONSTITUTION: A main DSLAM unit(700) includes a CRIB(Control Remote Interface Block) unit(300) for performing an interface from the main DSLAM unit(700) to a remote DSLAM unit(50). The remote DSLAM unit(50) comprises an MRIB(Modem Remote Interface Block)(200) for providing an ADSL service from the CRIB unit(300) to a subscriber ADSL modem located at a remote place and an ADSL modem unit(100) connected to the MRIB unit(200).
