<p>An automated device recordation and registration process for automatically registering, on a remote computer (12), an embedded device (14) is described. The registration process includes a feature detection process (18) for detecting feature information (20) associated with a device to be registered. A transmission process (28) transmits the feature information (20) to a remote computer (12) at a known address using a self-describing computer language.
