The hydrostatic axial piston machine comprises a cylinder block (1) that is a rotating hub and a cylinder block bearing (2) that is rotatably mounted in a housing (3). The cylinder block bearing is made up of two spherical roller bearings (2a, 2b) arranged in an O-shaped formation. There is a rim centring (1a) and a wheel fixture flange (1b) in the cylinder block to hold and fix at least one wheel rim. There are also a number of concentric bores (4) in which a hub piston (5) is longitudinally movable and which, with the aid of glide shoes (6a) and a ring disc (6b), is supported on a cradle (7). The cradle may be slidably mounted in a cradle receiver (8) which has pressure channels (15, 16), and is connected to the housing's closure cover. Between the cylinder block and the housing is a sprung-lamellae brake (9) that is detachable by means of a hydraulically compressible ring piston (10).
