PURPOSE: An evaporator is provided to improve heat exchanging performance and to reduce frosting on a return band part. CONSTITUTION: Radiation fins(13) are installed even on return band parts(12a) of a heat transfer pipe(12) to expand area of an evaporator(10) for heat exchange by using the return band parts as parts of a heat exchanger. A plurality of air penetrating holes are formed on the radiation fins not to interfere with air flow. Alternatively, lengthy radiation fins are formed to be slantly joined to the heat transfer pipe to be parallel with flowing direction of air. Hot air flowing in from a freezing compartment and a refrigerating compartment passes not only a central part of the evaporator but also the return band parts of the evaporator to expand usable area of the evaporator.
