The ventilation installation is for positioning in a facade and comprises a housing (1) through whihc a ventilation channel (19) extends. The channel is limited by lower and upper walls and the distance between the walls is many times smaller than the width of the channel. The ventilation channel has an inlet part (20) with a center line which at least near the opening forms a large upward angle in relation to a horizontal surface. The upper wall (21) in the inlet part is formed from one or more continuous curves. The lower wall (14) in the inlet part is formed by interconnecting flat surfaces (14a,14b,14c,14d,14e). These surfaces form a segment of a polygon in cross-section where they abut directly on the facade.
