PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain desired X-ray images without carrying out complicate procedures for setting a tube voltage and a tube current necessary for imaging in an X-ray inspecting apparatus. SOLUTION: A combination comprising a set of the tube voltage and the tube current corresponding to a type and a thickness of a specimen 2 is read out from a database 11 by specifying the specimen among types of specimens displayed in a list to a display device 6. The specimen 2 is imaged under the condition. The specimen is imaged by a predetermined number of times by automatically changing the imaging condition. Obtained images are displayed by a list to the display device 6. Regular imaging is carried out under an optimum imaging condition by selecting an optimum image from the list. Desired X-ray images can be obtained without complicatedly setting the imaging condition.
