PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry the grain to be dried to a predetermined moisture value without causing dehulling by using this small-sized circulating grain dryer, even if the grain to be dried is paddies with open caryopsis. SOLUTION: The operation of the lower screw conveyer mounted in the machine body of a small-sized circulating grain dryer is controlled to be intermittent operation of driving at predetermined intervals, and the number of circulation of the grains fed to the grain tank in the machine body to be circulated until they are dried to a predetermined moisture value is set to decrease to one half or one part in several of the number of circulation at the time when the lower screw conveyer is continuously operated. Then, the grains are fed to the grain tank in the machine body to be dried.
