PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the lifes of an image carrier such as a photoreceptor drum and a developing means can be prolonged, without making the device large-sized nor increasing the cost. SOLUTION: This image forming device is constituted by arranging a plurality of image formation units which forms color toner images of different colors and a black toner image in parallel, arranging a belt-like intermediate transfer body to which the toner images of the respective colors formed by the image formation units are transferred over the image formation units, and further arranging an image writing means which writes an image to the image carriers of the image formation units below the image formation units; and each image formation unit is equipped with a developing means which develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the image carrier and the developing means which develops a color toner image is driven by a driving means different from that for a developing means which develops the black-and-white toner image. |
