PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest device that keeps the body of a passenger from interference with an urging member for urging a headrest frame in a reclining direction and ensures a reliable operation thereof and that is unconstrained by the size, thickness and the like of a seat back. SOLUTION: A cantilever 13 is disposed between an upper frame 3 of a seat back frame 1 and a headrest frame 11 to press the lower end of the headrest frame 11 forward from behind into a reclined position. The cantilever 13 forms no forward and widthwise outward projection from the seat back frame 1 so as to be free from interference with the body of a passenger and to allow the device to be mounted even under limitations on the size and thickness of a seat back.
