PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the wasteful circulation of oil and reduce the storage amount of oil in an oil tank by lubricating the periphery of a crank shaft and a valve system with the amount of oil suitable to them in a four cycle engine. SOLUTION: This lubricating device of the engine is composed of a first lubricating line La for circulating oil mist produced in an oil tank 40 from the oil tank 40 to the oil tank 40 through a first oil passage 601, a crank chamber 6a, and a second oil passage 602; and a second lubricating line Lb circulating the oil mist produced in the oil tank 40 from the oil tank 40 to the oil tank 40 through a first valve chamber 21a (housing a timing transmission device 22), a third oil passage 603, a second valve system chamber 21b (housing a cam device 22b), a fourth oil passage 604, a crank chamber 6a, and the second oil passage 602 in order.
