PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that two presence/nonpresence sensors for recorded material are required for a conventional image forming apparatus in which the number of times of step operations necessary for cleaning paper to move between two presence/nonpresence sensors for recording material installed on a feeding path is measured and driving time to feed the cleaning paper for preliminarily calculated width of a fixing nip part is determined when the cleaning paper is fed by step operations to repeat drive, stop of a motor. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a means to measure length of the recoded material in the feeding direction when the cleaning paper is created and a means to store this measurement result and measures the driving time to be required for feeding the cleaning paper for the width of a fixing nip part by one presence/nonpresence detecting means for recorded material. |
