PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain sensation of acceleration in harmony with an accelerated condition, by detecting the acceleration condition from the phase of a crankshaft and an intake air pipe pressure. SOLUTION: A stroke condition is detected from the rotational angle of the crank shaft and the intake air pipe pressure, a pressure difference between an intake air pipe pressure detected at the prescribed crank angle of an exhaust stroke and an intake air stroke and an intake air pipe pressure at the same crank angle of the same stroke of a previous cycle is computed as an intake air pipe pressure differenceΔPA-MIN, it is compared with a threshold set for every crank angle, if it is not less than the threshold, an engine is judged to be in an acceleration condition, and fuel for the time of acceleration is instantly injected. A quantity of fuel injected for the time of acceleration is set in compliance with an engine speed, that is, an engine load and an intake air pipe pressure difference, or a throttle opening difference. In addition, after injecting the fuel for the time of acceleration by detecting the accelerated condition, over-rich is prevented by making the fuel for the time of acceleration not to be injected for a prescribed time.
