摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device for a solid material which is formed in a compact manner and reduce a manufacturing cost to a low value since the device not only has two of a drying function and a cooling function but also structure is simple and rational and parts are saved. SOLUTION: In a drying device for a solid material consisting of a lateral axis rotary drum having one end opened for charge of a solid material and the other end opened for discharge, an insertion pipe is erected in a manner to extend through a rotary drum, and the insertion pipe is sealed in the middle position of the rotary drum. One end of the insertion pipe with the sealed wall forming a boundary forms a hot air passage, and a discharge nozzle for hot air is disposed on its under surface. At the other end of the insertion pipe, a portion extending from the end to a spot near the sealed wall is vertically partitioned. A lower half from the partition wall forms a cold air passage and an injection nozzle for cold air is disposed. An upper half forms an exhaust passage and a suction port where hot air and cold air are joined together is formed near the sealed wall.
