WIRE ROD/STEEL BAR HAVING EXCELLENT COLD WORKABILITY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wire rods/bar steels having excellent cold workability even in an as-hot-rolled state and also to provide a useful method for manufacturing such wire rods/bar steels. SOLUTION: A properly regulated chemical composition is provided. Further, ferrite fraction Vf (area%) in a microstructure satisfies inequality 1.05 Vfe1<=Vf<=2.0 Vfe1 in relation with ferrite fraction Vfe1 specified by equation Vfe1=106.7-142.6[C]-0.256[Si]-4.219[Mn] (where [C], [Si] and [Mn] represent respective contents (mass%) of C, Si and Mn).
