PURPOSE: To provide an alternator for vehicle which can improve cooling characteristic of a rectifier and a brush by expanding the area of a heating radiating plate of the rectifier in order to improve the performance and durability. CONSTITUTION: The alternator for vehicle comprises a rotor 6, a stator 8, a rectifier 12, a regulator 14, a brush 10 and a connector 22. A case 3 includes a plurality of suction ports E, G, the cooling air sucked from the suction ports E, G cools the rectifier 12 and also cools a coil end 19 through the ventilation. The regulator 14 and brush 10 are overlapped for disposition in the axial direction. The regulator 14, brush 10 and connector 22 are disposed almost in the same plane where the center line is extending in the radial direction. The rectifier 12 is disposed almost symmetrically to the same plane and the case 3 is provided with a plurality of suction ports E, G at the positions corresponding to the rectifier 12.
