PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized aberration correction element and a miniaturized aberration correction device which have high performance, correct aberrations having various shapes and correct a large aberration also. SOLUTION: The aberration correction element has 1st and 2nd electrode layers opposed to each other and liquid crystal generating a phase change in a light beam to be passed corresponding to voltage applied to the 1st and 2nd electrode layers and the 1st electrode layer is divided into a plurality of electrically separated phase adjusting parts. Each of the phase adjusting parts includes a pair of electrodes arranged in a shape capable of generating field distribution whose aberration is corrected by applying prescribed voltage. The plurality of phase adjusting parts are arranged so that a phase difference corresponding to the integer times of wavelength of a light beam is generated in the light beam in a phase adjusting area including one or two continuous phase adjusting parts by applying prescribed voltage to the phase adjusting area. |
