PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that includes a dropping preventing cover capable of dropping prevention for defrosted water upon defrosting, an improvement of heat efficiency of a heater, and shortening of vaporization time. SOLUTION: A refrigerator is provided with a vaporizer 16 for producing cold air on the back of a freezing chamber, an air fan 17 for feeding cold air produced from the vaporizer 16, a water reception pan 18 at a lower portion of the vaporizer 16 for recovering defrosted water and draining it, a defrosting heater 19 at an upper portion of the water reception pan 18 for heating the vaporizer 16 upon dehumidification, and a dropping-preventing cover for preventing defrosted water dropping from the vaporizer 16. In the refrigerator, the dropping preventing cover 20 has a size where the heater 19 is hidden completely when viewed from an upper surface, and includes a trough section 21 whereby the dropped defrosted water is drained onto the water reception pan 18 while permitting the trough section 21 to be heated.
