PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a far IR light-radiating granular article which has an excellent for IR light-radiating function and stability and can be used in various industrial fields, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This far IR light-radiating granular article 10 in which a synthetic resin coating layer 13 containing a far IR light-radiating substance (for example, the powder of animal or plant plankton fossils) 12 on the surface of a granular article 11. The far IR light-radiating granular article, wherein the powder of the far IR light-radiating substance has particle size of 0.2 to 0.5μm and the granular article is either of sand, gravel, wooden chip, resin granule and metal granule. The method for producing the far IR light-radiating granular article, characterized by dispersing the powder of the far IR light- radiating substance in the aqueous solution of a natural or synthetic resin to prepare a liquid composition comprising 85 to 95 wt.% of the water, 2.5 to 7.5 wt.% of the natural or synthetic resin and 2.5 to 7.5 wt.% of the far IR light-radiating substance, and then dipping the granular article in the liquid composition or spraying the liquid composition on the granular article, and then drying the stuck liquid composition.
