PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with seal structure to prevent leakage of toner from both ends of a development blade while holding contact pressure of the blade to a development sleeve uniform in its longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: This developing device is characterized by providing a lower frame body 15, the development sleeve 12d provided to the lower frame body 15 and to supply the toner to a development are to develop a latent image, the development blade 12e to be abutted to the development sleeve 12d and to regulate thickness of a toner layer on the peripheral surface of the development sleeve 12d and a seal member S7 to be provided by being abutted to the surface of the development blade 12e on the opposite side of the one to be abutted to the development sleeve 12d, in the shape to relieve the contact pressure from the development blade 12e bent by being abutted to the development sleeve 12d and to prevent the leakage of the toner between the lower frame body 15 and the development blade 12e in a developing means 12 to develop the latent image.
