PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction device capable of efficiently sucking fluid by eliminating causes such as swirl and turbulent flow that obstruct the flow of the fluid. SOLUTION: This ink jet recorder comprises the suction device having a fan having a rotating blade and sucking the fluid and a duct leading the fluid to the inlet of the fan. The duct is not provided with a flow passage at the rotating center part of the blade, and provided with a donut-shaped flow passage leading the fluid along the rotating direction of the blade.
