FINE ORANGE PIGMENT, AND COATING MATERIAL AND RESIN COMPOSITION PREPARED BY USING THE PIGMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fine orange pigment which does not contain a harmful element, has been improved in chemical resistance (e.g. resistances to acids and alkalis) and heat resistance, and can give coating material and resin compositions excellent in clarity. SOLUTION: This pigment comprises fine hydrated iron oxide particles, a coating layer formed from an organosilane compound or polysiloxane derived from an alkoxysilane on the surface of the particles, and an organic red pigment attached to the coating layer and has an average length of 0.005μm or more but less than 0.1μm. The amount of the organic red pigment attached is 1-30 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. hydrated iron oxide particles.
