PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type transmission for a vehicle improved in the durability of a belt and restraining heat generation. SOLUTION: This belt type transmission 15 for the vehicle shifts to transmit driving force from a crankshaft 17 of an engine 13 to a rear wheel 14 through a belt 24 stretched over a primary side pulley 22 and a secondary side pulley 23. The belt 24 is constituted by connecting a large number of resin blocks, and the belt 24 and the respective pulleys 22, 23 are enclosed in a transmission case 21. Further, a sound absorbing material 38 is disposed along the inner surface of the transmission case 21.
