PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device and an image reading device provided with the same capable of preventing foreign matter intruding into a device main body and arranging a sheet storing means and a discharged paper storing means in non-obstructive positions when it is not used. SOLUTION: The sheet storing means 3 storing sheets fed from a paper feeding opening 4 to a sheet conveying passage 16 is rotatably provided on the device main body 1A in a manner movable to a position storing sheets and a position covering the sheet feeding opening 4. The discharged paper storing means 6 storing sheets discharged from a paper discharging opening 10 is rotatably provided on the device main body 1A in a manner movable to a position storing sheets discharged from the paper discharging opening 10 and a position covering the paper discharging opening 10. When the sheet feeding opening 4 is covered, the sheet storing means 3 is turned over in a manner that the sheet storing means 3 constructs a surface of the device main body 1A and covers the paper feeding opening 4. When the paper discharging opening 10 is covered, the paper discharging means 6 is turned over in a manner that the paper discharging means 6 constructs a surface of the device main body 1A and covers the paper discharging opening 10.
