PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide general purpose blocks for mounting a liquid crystal display device in which optical precision and asseblability are improved. SOLUTION: Parallel grooves are respectively provided to inner wall surfaces 12, 22, 32 and 42 and outer wall surfaces 13, 23, 33 and 43, which are bent at a right angle, of general purpose blocks A10, B20, C30 and D40 having a flat and approximately L shape. The grooves of the inner wall surfaces are engaged to a light transmission plate 51 to constitute a back light unit 50. The surfaces 12, 22, 32 and 42 on the plate 51 hold a liquid crystal panel 60. A binding member 54 is provided on the peripheries of the blocks A10, B20, C30 and D40 to engage with the grooves of the surfaces 13, 23, 33 and 43 and the blocks A10, B20, C30 and D40 are respectively joined together.
