PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the volume and weight of a washing solution which is provided by being contained in a self-feeding type photosensitive material processing equipment which processes a prescribed number of photographic sensitive materials. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method and system of recycling the washing solution into photographic sensitive material processing equipment. In this method and system, a series of washing stages are carried out with the photosensitive material processing equipment. The washing solution of the volume more than the volume of the washing solution used in the first washing stage is used during one of the washing stage, more preferably during the washing stage (second washing stage) next to the first washing stage. The washing solution used in the second or the next washing stage requires chemical treatment, such as ion exchange and is thereafter regenerated and is returned to the photosensitive material processing equipment where the washing solution is recycled to photographic sensitive material processing and/or cleaning of the component members of the photosensitive material processing equipment.
