PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a substance to be inspected, such as carcinoembryonic antigens, etc., can be detected by using an immuno- chromatographic assay by which the substance to be inspected existing in a bio-tissue can be detected with high sensitivity without causing any nonspecific reaction, and to provide a detector used for the method and a method by which a cancer existing in a lymph node can be diagnosed by utilizing the carcinoembryonic antigen. SOLUTION: The immuno-chromatographic detector, which detects the substance to be inspected existing in the lymph node contains a reagent (1) labeled with a marker which can move in a porous substance and another reagent (2), which is immobilized to the detecting section of the porous substance and is specific to the substance to be inspected and detects the substance to be inspected from the marker appearing in the detecting section. In the detector, serum albumin and a straight-chain water-soluble polymer are arranged, in a state where the albumin and polymer coexist with the labeled reagent (1).
