PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an electroluminescence element is provided to have a durability against an external shock by forming a spacer at an upper portion of an insulation barrier other than a pixel area. CONSTITUTION: An insulation substrate(21) includes an anode pattern(22). An insulation barrier(23) is formed at an upper portion of the insulation substrate(21) in order to prevent a short-circuit with a cathode pattern. The insulation barrier(23) defines a pixel area. The insulation barrier(23) is formed by an oxide film, a high polymer insulation film or a photoresist film. After a spacer(100) is formed, a cathode separation barrier(md) is deposited at an upper portion of the insulation barrier(23) to cross an anode pattern(22). After the cathode separation barrier(md) is formed, an organic thin film layer or a cathode pattern under atmosphere of a vacuum, an argon, or a nitrogen.
