PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for imaging whereby a plotting process can be continued even if a memory is short when bit map image data are generated from printing data described in an inputted page description language. SOLUTION: When it is a command related to plotting a path of inputted printing data, e.g. it is a Line plotting command, a path regeneration process is carried out for the printing data by linear approximation according to a set plotting condition (step S605). When a working memory is running short during the path regeneration because the number of ranges of points is large, the path regeneration process is carried out under a plotting condition with a use quantity of the memory reduced in comparison with the previous time (step S610). Errors by a memory excess are avoided by completing the process. |
