PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life image forming device and a method for forming images such that image flowing or image irregularity are not produced in various environments but extremely sharp images can be stably obtained and that the photoreceptor is not scraped. SOLUTION: The image forming device and the method for forming images uses the combination of the following electrophotographic photoreceptor, electrifying means and magnetic toner. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a surface layer consisting of a non-single crystal carbon film containing hydrogen and having 4.9×109 to 1.76×1010 Pa (500 to 1,800 kgf/mm2) dynamic hardness. The electrifying means has an electrifying member to be in contact with the photoreceptor and electrifies by applying a voltage. The magnetic toner contains inorganic fine powder and toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a magnetic material and the toner has 0.950 to 0.995 average circularity.
