PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a moving picture can not be taken because the aperture part of a photographic lens must be mechanically moved in a single lens stereoscopic image pickup method for moving the aperture part thereof on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the lens. SOLUTION: By providing a shielding plate 12 having two aperture parts at the rear of the lens 11 and respectively independently receiving light beams passing through the respective aperture parts by photodetectors 14 corresponding to the respective aperture parts through a mirror 13, the parallatic picture of the moving picture is taken. Then, a distance image is formed by matching corresponding points between right and left images on the principle of triangulation in the midst of image pickup or after image pickup.
