PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring out performance of wet friction material such as friction characteristics, high friction coefficient and the same while eliminating a drawback of tendency to get permanent set by using plural type of adhesives for wet friction material. SOLUTION: The wet friction material 3 is provided with a first layer 5 impregnated with first adhesive (phenolic resin) and a second layer 4 impregnated with first adhesive (phenolic resin) and second adhesive (silicone resin). The first layer 5 side is stuck to a core plate 2 and the second layer 4 side is used as a friction engagement surface.
