PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation system to display video data showing a landscape by correlating the data with the present location, etc., as well as map data. SOLUTION: Video data showing landscapes are stored in a DVD-ROM 107. The searching point (time) of the video data corresponding to the present location detected by means of a location detecting section 105 is obtained by means of a link information table T2, and the video data corresponding to the present location are retrieved and read out from the DVD-ROM 107. The video data are transmitted to an overlay displaying section 33 after the data are decoded by means of an MPEG2 decoder 31. In addition, the map corresponding to the present location and the scenery videos in the front of the present location are synthesized by means of the displaying section 33 and displayed on the same screen. When a video photographed at a specific spot is stored, the still picture of the photographed video can also be displayed. |
