PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system from which the user can easily and visually obtain information, a method of displaying map, and so on. SOLUTION: This navigation system is constituted to correlate the scale of a map M displayed on a displaying section 12 to the set value of the number of spots on a spot list L which are to be displayed on the section 12 in parallel with the map M. When, for example, the user changes the number of the spots to be displayed on the section 12 through operation, the scale of the map M is automatically changed in an interlocking way with the operation. The system is also constituted to always display a map M containing the extent from its location P1 to a target spot P2 and, as the location P1 approaches the target spot P2, to automatically change the map M displayed on the section 12 to enlarged detailed maps in steps. |
