PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively absorb energy of a shock when the shock acts in the direction for crossing the axial direction of a steering column in a second collision in which a driver collides with a steering wheel. SOLUTION: A tilt bracket 6 fixed to the steering column 2 has side plates 17 and 18. The side plates 17 and 18 include a bending area 23 forming an inverse triangle. The bending area 23 is partitioned between a pair of bottom folding lines 25 and 26 arranged by sandwiching a ridge folding line 24. The lower ends of the bottom folding lines 25 and 26 converge on the lower end of the ridge folding line 24. When receiving the shock in the direction for crossing the axis X of the steering column 2, the pair of bottom folding lines 25 and 26 approach each other. Since a moving stroke of the mutual upper ends of the pair of bottom folding lines 25 and 26 is relatively large, an inclination of the steering column 2 moderates. |
