PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chlorosilane compound having thexyl group, capable of providing a stable silylation product due to a bulky substituent group possessed thereby and useful as a silylating agent. SOLUTION: This chlorosilane compound is represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein, R1 and R2 are each the same or different and denote each a 3-10C branched hydrocarbon group or a 3-10C cyclic hydrocarbon group having the hydrocarbon group in theα- or theβ-position).
