摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fragments of a ruptured impeller from scattering from a scroll case. SOLUTION: In this fluid machinery, a radial flow impeller 3 is disposed on the scroll case 8 formed of a plurality of wall portions 7 and 11 and having a swirl-shaped flow passage 9. The impeller 3 is provided with a hub 4 put on a shaft 2 drivingly rotatably supported inside a bearing housing 1. The outer profile of the hub 4 and the outer profile of the inside wall portion 7 of the scroll case 8 positioned opposedly to the hub 4 form a flow passage 9 directed from an axial direction to a radial direction. The scroll case 8 is fixed to the bearing housing 1. In order to absorb the comprehensive maximum kinetic energy of the impeller 3, the wall portions of the scroll case 8 positioned opposedly to the outer profile 6 of the hub 4 of the impeller 3 is formed so as to be deformed in axial direction (a) inside the scroll case 8 by a force F generated by the ruptured impeller.
