PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense a spread of an air bag on the basis of the spreading sound. SOLUTION: A microphone array 12 senses the spreading sound of the air bag, and on the basis thereof, emits a sound emission signal. A memory 15 stores the acoustic characteristic data of the air bag spreading sound. A microphone array ECU 14 compares the sound emission signal emitted by the microphone array 12 with the signal corresponding to the acoustic characteristic data stored in the memory 15, and on the basis of the result from comparison, judges whether the air bag is spread.
