PURPOSE: A damage preventive apparatus of a reel cable is provided to prevent accidents by checking the unwinding direction and the droop of the reel cable in working automatically. CONSTITUTION: A reel cable winding and unwinding device is composed of a reel drum(5); a guide frame(2) passing a reel cable(1) wound on the reel drum; an overtension spring(3); and a cable winding motor winding the reel cable. The reel cable is wound or unwound with the moving difference of the cable winding motor. A cable control weight(21) is installed in the upper part of the guide frame to turn through a bearing, and a roller(22) is mounted in the lower port of the cable control weight. A limit switch(25) is installed in the guide frame to detect drooping of the reel cable, and travel direction limit switches(23,24) are mounted at both sides of the limit switch. The damage of the reel cable is prevented with checking unwinding or winding the reel cable loose, and automatic operation is performed without inconvenience.
