PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transparent object to be recorded which is to be used as a genuine article for an image forming apparatus, an image forming apparatus and an identifying apparatus capable of easily identifying the kind of the relevant transparent object to be recorded with high reliability. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a detection part optically detecting a non-printing area of the transparent recording object having a printable area which is composed of a transparent part to transmit light and on which information is recorded and the non-printing area where recording of the information is inhibited, in a prescribed detection block, a printing part applying printing to the transparent object to be recorded, and a control part judging whether the transparent object to be recorded is a dedicated article planned to be combined with an image recorder or not on the basis of how many times a value detected by the detection part is changed in the detection block and enabling printing by means of the printing part to the transparent object to be recorded jusged as a dedicated article.
