PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device by which a good image having no irregularity in density is obtained. SOLUTION: A component Br in a vertical direction to the surface of a developer carrying body 21 of the magnetic field strength formed between a first magnetic pole S1 and a second magnetic pole S3 of a magnetic field generating means 23 provided in the body 21 becomes a minimum value in the vicinity closer to the pole S3 than the pole S1 and the magnetic polarity is the same as the polarity of the pole S1.
