PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition for improving discharge stability and reliance on anticlogging. SOLUTION: This ink composition for ink jet recording comprises at least a pigment, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether, 2-pyrrolidone, a surfactant, water and a water soluble organic solvent, wherein a weight ratio of the surfactant, triethylene glycol monobutyl ether and 2-pyrrolidone is from 1:4:4 to 1:20:20, and the surfactant is is a compound represented by formula (I). |
