OPERATING METHOD FOR ION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE PROCESS ALKALI CHLORIDE ELECTROLYTIC CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method for an ion exchange membrane process alkali chloride electrolytic cell which is capable of easily and rapidly judging whether the operation can be normally started and continued or not without damage in ion exchange membranes and electrolytic cell when the operation of the electrolytic cell is stopped and is then resumed in ion exchange membrane process alkali chloride electrolysis. SOLUTION: The operating method for the ion exchange membrane process alkali chloride electrolytic cell consists in measuring voltage A (V) of the corrosion preventive current flowing in the electrolytic cell before starting of the operation in operating the ion exchange membrane process alkali chloride electrolytic cell; measuring the electrolytic voltage B (V) of the respective current after the start of the operation, continuing the operation when A and B are above a set value; analyzing the gas generated from the electrolytic cell when either of A or B is below the set value and judging whether the operation of the electrolytic cell is continued or not from the result of the analysis.
