PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in the size and cost of an automatic bag-opening apparatus. SOLUTION: The automatic bag-opening apparatus 1 comprises a bag-opening part 2 wherein if a bag F, in which powder and granular materials supplied are sealed, is supplied, the bag F is unsealed to discharge the materials downward, while the emptied bag G is discharged to the outside, a cylindrical sifter 4 (called also a cylindrical screen or cylindrical sieve) to separate foreign matters in the materials discharged or to remove or break clogging, a bag filter 5 which draws the air in the sifter 4 to eliminate the positive pressure thereof and collects dust blown up in the air, a rotary valve 6 to feed the materials treated at the sifter 4 to a pneumatic transfer line, and a control device 10 to control lifting and cleaning of the bag F, wherein these units are electrically controlled. The part 2, sifter 4, bag filter 5, and valve 6 are made integral to one another.
