<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing such polymerization process toners which are good in handling and are good in penetrability into an aqueous medium even if a polymerization initiator to be used is a non-water-soluble powder solid and which obviate the occurrence of an adverse influence on product characteristics in consequence of the difference in polymerization rates by each of liquid drops as the migration to polymerizable monomer composition liquid drops is uniformly and rapidly effected. SOLUTION: This method has a granulating process step of dispersing the polymerizable monomer composition containing at least polymerizable monomers, coloring agents and release agents and not containing the polymerization initiator into the aqueous dispersion medium and manufactures the polymerization process toners consisting of the colored polymer particles obtained by feeding the polymerization initiator while this process step is carried out, and in succession, polymerizing the composition in the aqueous dispersion medium. The polymerization initiator is insoluble in water and is the powdery solid at its service temperature and the feeding thereof is carried out in the state of suspension dispersing the polymerization initiator in water.</p> |
