PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device for a small-size optical device. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the liquid crystal device by using two glass substrates on which electrodes or the like are formed, a plurality of cells are formed in one body by laminating two glass substrates with a sealing agent while forming a gap, and then cut into long sticks. After a liquid crystal is injected and sealed in the cells, the glass substrates in a long stick state is cut into the separate liquid crystal devices. In this method, the liquid crystal device has a pattern to check the distance between the outer edge of the pattern of the sealing agent and a scribe line.
