PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission that can reduce a sense of incongruity felt by a driver by suppressing the large fluctuation of a speed change ratio in relation to the fluctuation of input torque. SOLUTION: This transmission 10 is provided with trunnions 17 having rocking shafts 17b, 17c at the upper and lower parts. The rocking shafts are rockingly supported through yokes 70, 71, and the trunnions 17 are provided with power rollers 15. The transmission 10 is further provided with a hydraulic cylinder mechanism for vertically displacing each trunnion 17; a control valve for controlling each hydraulic cylinder mechanism; and a feedback mechanism for feeding back to transmit the displacement of one trunnion 17 to the control valve through a precession cam 76 so that a change gear ratio between input and output discs 12, 13 is a target value. In this constitution, the precession cam 76 is provided at a part of the trunnion 17 and in a position near the yoke 71 supporting the rocking shaft 17c of the trunnion 17, to suppress the displacement of the precession cam 76 caused by the elastic deformation of the trunnion 17.
