This invention relates to compositions containing caprylyl glycol or an analog thereof, and a preservative agent. It further relates to the use of such compositions in topical formulations, in particular in cosmetic formulations. It further relates to the use of caprylyl glycol or an analog thereof to increase the activity of preservative agents.
